Foodmadics: “those who travel to taste”

Sara & Ale

Welcome to our blog, we are Sara & Ale: we are Italians and we love to travel and taste. We coined the term Foodmadics to describe those who travel & taste like us.

Sara is sweet, quirky, funny and writes all the content in this blog. She is a great travel planner but also disaster-prone and a little bit of a scaredy cat sometimes. Shh, don’t tell her this last part or she’ll put on her angry face..

Ale (like the beer, yes, but pronounced differently!) is cheeky, methodical and sometimes extremely annoying. But hey, he was the one deciding to build this website

Scotland: 10 reasons to visit and their local food

From the small villages by the shore where you can have the freshest fish, to the infinite coast of the island of Skye, Scotland will surprise you from the minute you set foot in the country. Amazing natural landscapes will grab your eyes and heart and the simplicity of the Eilean Donean Castle will grant you the opportunity for a postcard photography. Home of the best whiskies in the world (like Talisker and Oban) and country of golf, you have the chance to visit places like St. Andrews and see the best greens in the world (and perhaps test them!). If you are travelling by car, it is worth stopping by the many lakes (lochs) that this country offers, starting from Lochness (home of the famous monster!) and getting to the lesser famous but even more beautiful loch Lomond.

France: 10 reasons to visit and their local food

From the romantic and timeless streets of Paris to the taste of the french cuisine you can try in the cafes, France is a gourmet paradise and even if we have a favourite in our Italian tradition – of course – we can’t deny how important and how enjoyable it is tasting in France. Your choices are almost unlimited, but for us, it all starts with breakfast (petit déjeuner), goes on with tartare (raw beef) and onion soup quaffed by fantastic full-bodied red wines. There will be also space for elegant drinks if you take a trip to Epernay, the Champagne region. And do not forget all the desserts, plenty of choices here as well but if you pass by Bordeaux, be sure to try the canelé: a traditional baked caramelised crust with a soft custard heart… et voila!
